My girls and I love to stop in at the M&M's store every time we are in Times Square. We love looking at all the stuff, but, most of all, the rainbow of M&M's. While these M&M's are quite expensive, it is great fun to fill a bag with all of your favorite colors. The store can be crowded sometimes, but it is worth the stop!
Okay there is literally like every single color M&M that you could possibly think of! This place is great & so much fun to just stop by & look at all the different colored M&Ms on the wall, take pics...the kids will love it & any chocolate lover you know would just be smitten with every single M&M in there! It would be great to mix some of a person's favorite colors & give it to them as a present, really yummy & colorful! :)
The M & M's store on Times Square is a super fun place to stop. You will find so many colors of M & M's. I would say any color you can imagine is here. There are also M&M varieties to celebrate Holidays, commemorate Sports Teams and etc. The store is huge. The merchandise here is fun and delicious.
This M&M World located in Times Square is a shrine to M&M's. Looking at it through the eyes of my chocolate obsessed 4 year old, it felt like heaven. He was so delighted at the columns and columns of M&M's in every color and flavor. Pick and choose and buy it by the pound. To me as a mom, it was kind of a nightmare. But, since we were on vacation, I tried not to cringe at the $12 pound of candy and let my son revel in his version of heaven.
So, depending on what your inclination is, avoid this place like a plague or give in and enjoy watching your child's eyes light up with pure joy. Although it's free to visit. You've got be prepared that it's impossible to leave without succumbing to the pleas for that $12 pound of M&M's.
This store is located in the heart of Times Square and is 3 stories of everything M&M's.
Is it expensive? Of course. A little over the top? Sure. It is New York afterall. However, my 8 year old son and I enjoyed exploring the store.
He loved being greeted by a huge M&M dressed in Disco gear that spins around on its platform. Around the store there are other M&M statues that make fun photo ops and if you are lucky (like we were!) you will even get to meet a real live M&M in person. Red and Green were on the loose and more than happy to pose for pictures.
My son's favorite part of the store? The M&M scanner. You stand under this "contraption" and it scans you. After analyzing you it lets you know which M&M color best represents you. Just be warned the line for this can get a bit backed up.
HIs other favorite part? Seeing the tubes of M&M's that went from counter height to the next floor in an array of colors that you can't find in any bag bought at the supermarket. Normally I would have passed on the $12.99 per pound price tag however we had given him the option to skip dessert at the restaurant to indulge in M&M's at the store. He had fun going from tube to tube filling his bag with colors of his choice. If you do decide to splurge, be aware that a pound only fills a small part of the bag. If you fill the entire bag up to the top you will easily have 3 or more pounds in there.
