"Ok for the area"

The owners of this zoo are great people but the zoo isnt really a zoo. Its more like a farm with a trail. My children didnt have a very good time mainly because they are used to big zoos (Chicago, Nashville, Tampa). They have alot of the local animals and a cool reptile area. It is kind of pricey for what you see but your helpig a good cause so that made me feel better about spending the money.

"Lynnwood Park "Zoo""

*Please do not think of a big city "zoo" when you go here, if you have that in mind you will be seriously disappointed.*  We have been to the Lynnwood Park Zoo a few times now, and have enjoyed ourselfs each time!  It is more of a walk through the woods on a "natural" trail-not paved!  Along the trail you will encounter several types of animals from large to small, they also have a "petting" area which is alot of fun for the kiddos!  For the price and the area (there isn't alot for kids to do in Jacksonville) this is a great family outing!  The staff is always nice & friendly, also they are very informative, you can tell they love their jobs!

"impressed"

We were all so impressed with how open everthing was and how the animals have so much space to move around. All the animals seemed to be so happy and were not in cages which we all loved. The zoo was so clean and so natural. We will go back again next year on our way up north.

"Great zoo!"

This zoo is privately owned.  All fo the animals are rescues.  The gentelman is very knowledgable of his animals and you can see his passion when he talks about them.  He does private tours 2 times a week and will allow the children to feed and pet the animals.  The owner does great with the children of all ages.  He talks to them in a way that they listen and understand.  We went with a group of 10 kids from ages 3 months to 12.  It's not your typical zoo.  Its set back in the woods with a natural path.  Also has a picnic area.  Can't wait to go back!
