"See an old firetruck"

This free museum is only open on Saturdays. My son and I visited the San Pedro/Harbor Museum on a Saturday morning. There is another location in Hollywood. It's basically an old fire station converted into a museum with pictures of earlier days. There were two fire engine trucks from 1927. Seeing these were the highlight for my son. The friendly volunteers were all former firefighters and were happy to share their stories with us, offering commentary for every picture and artifact. If you are driving around San Pedro or plan on taking the Red Car Line, you should make a quick visit to this Fire Museum to get additional historical sense of the surrounding area. While riding in the trolley, you can see the Old Fireboat No. 2 in the harbor. It is currently in the process of rehabilitation.

Metered parking is available behind the museum.
