This is a most unusual retreat for dogs and cats, a non-profit animal sanctuary founded by Emily Jo Beard on 180 bucolic acres. The retreat is home to a variety of dogs, plus cats who have found a new life and home in this caring environment. The emphasis is on education, and children will find the dogs “living in harmony” and the cats “
contented,” enjoying spacious yards, play structures, and shady trees.
