From this viewpoint can be seen several points of interest. Hance Rapid is one of the many powerful whitewater rapids along the Colorado River. Unkar Delta was once home to ancestral Puebloan people and is the site of active archeological study. The Grand Canyon Supergroup is a unique rock at Grand Canyon, found exposed at only a few places within the canyon.

"Tanner Trail begins here!"

My favorite, most difficult hike ever!  This is a challenging and most rewarding backpacking adventure.

The overlook itself is wonderful, worth getting out for.  But the real beauty is just below the rim.

Experienced backpackers will love this quiet and challenging route.  Do your research thoroughly:

This trail is tough!

Not for small children.

Families should be very experienced and well prepared to hike this trail.  Don't forget to apply for and bring your backcountry permit!
