"Popular festival"

Held in Highland Park, the lilacs really are gorgeous and there are plenty of them to see and smell. There is something for everyone here. You can walk around on a path and look at all the lilacs. It is a smooth path, great for strollers. Lots of nice photo opportunites. There are gifts and food you can buy, childrens activites such as horse rides and bounce houses, concerts to see, wine tasting and the parade.

"Great Event"

We live in Rochester and go to the Lilac Festival every year!!  It's beautiful there when all the flowers are in bloom and they smell so great.  There is also a parade, race, and craft tents set up.  It's a family friendly event.  The festival is a week long and they bring in entertainers everyday.  There is great food and lots of fun to be had.  It's always over Mother's Day weekend, which is a nice way to spend the day!

"Tradition"

We try to get to the Lilac Festival every year.  We love walking around the park and seeing all the lilacs, taking the kids into the conservatory, and letting them have fun on the rides.  The only problem is that it's very money oriented.  The focus seems to be more on vendors than it does anything else, and if you don't bring enough money you're not going to fully enjoy it.

"beautiful and frangrant"

This is one of my all time favorite flower gardens! The lilacs are just gorgeous and smell sooo good! The kids love walking around the flowers and playing peekaboo around the bushes. There are horse and carriage rides and food stalls. Its a very festive atmosphere and great for family fun! I highly recommend it if you're in the area when the lilacs are blooming!
