We brought three teens here for a special birthday outing. They did the program called Junior Driver's School (see website). The staff was very friendly and helpful.
They gave the kids the option of fully suiting up or just wearing the essentials (helmet and neckbrace), but as it was a special outing and we wanted photos, we (the moms) insisted that they suit up. They humored us.
The course is in a warehouse, with the majority of the doors open, with lots of (loud) fans blowing ~for ventilation. The karts themselves are rather noisy (so little children may not enjoy being spectators).
All three teens (girls-13, boy-14) enjoyed racing and would do it again. They commented that you do get shaken around quite a bit in the helmet ~ so if you're sensitive, you may get a headache. Occasionally karts will accidentally collide and you may get jostled a bit, but we had no injuries.
This activity is pricey, but they do have specials which cut the cost by up to half! A very fun activity for teens (and most dads seem to enjoy it too!).
