This eleven-acre indoor/outdoor museum harks back to the rough-and-tumble pioneer days in the Owens Valley. Kids can climb into the cab of locomotive 9 to ring the
bell, and explore the compartment cars of the 1883 Slim Princess narrow gauge train, which, says the sign, “began nowhar, ended nowhar, an’ stopped all night to think it
over.” The museum is on the National Register of Historic Places. Check out the bell rack, featuring antique bells from Bishop-area schools; the Original Laws School,
refurbished with local artifacts; and a country store with old-time school items and supplies on display.
