LARK Toys has been one of our favorites since we discovered it nine years ago. We make the three-hour trip every year or two just to see what's new and to have a ride on the beautiful hand-carved carousel.
This isn't ToysRUs. Very few of the toys are battery-operated; instead, they're the type that inspire imagination and those that we remember from our childhoods. In addition to toys, there's a nice bookstore in the complex.
You can spend the day at LARK. There's a toy museum in the halls, a candy shop, and concession stand that sells sandwiches as well as ice cream and other treats.
The hand-carved carousel is beautiful, and outside there's a very nice miniature golf course.
LARK Toys is worth the drive.
