"Oldest Wooden Coaster"

We grew up going to Lakemont Park.  The park is in a pretty big area with two roller coasters sandwiching the park.  There is a pond to use paddle boats and a few water slides.  The park now also contains a baseball stadium with the Altoona Curve play, which draws more attention to the park.  The admission price is fair and on the 4th of July they have fireworks at the park as well.

"Fun with the Family"

In 2000 Lakemont Park reopened its treasured historic Leap the Dips roller coaster, the world’s oldest roller coaster and the last remaining example of the side friction figure-eight design. In 2001 the Tin Lizzy Antique Auto ride opened. In all, there are more than thirty rides and attractions, including the Island Waterpark, two roller coasters, two go-kart tracks, an arcade, food, and more.
Every year from Thanksgiving through the Sunday after New Year’s, Lakemont hosts its “Holiday Lights on the Lake.”
