Great place for a picnic lunch. The large eucalyptus trees provide a lot of shade. The picnic tables are plentiful. Don't plan to swim in the roped off area unless you like cold water. This lake is freezing. The sandy beach area is ok for kids. Not a great place to be when crowded. I haven't tried boating on the lake but I do like to watch the sailboats.
It's $6/vehicle. During the off season there usually isn't anyone at the entrance booth. But, in summer expect to pay to get in. I love going midweek, it's usually not very crowded (especially in the spring/fall) and it's very relaxing. It has a little playground and lots of picnic tables and grills.
Within biking distance of town, a day-use park for picnicking, windsurfing, sailing, and fishing. Rent a rowboat ($$)! You’re guaranteed to catch bass all year long. There are restrooms, a snack bar, and shady picnic grounds. Lifeguards are on duty on summerweekends.
