One of the state’s most popular recreation lakes, with 165 miles of hilly, oak-coveredshoreline. On the west shore, Knoxville Road gives access to marinas, park headquaters, a resort, beaches, and campgrounds. Oak Shores Park day-use area ($) has the best beach and picnic sites, with lifeguards on weekends. Spring is ideal for bass fising; fall, for trout. Marinas rent fishing, patio, and ski boats and other watercraft. This is a mild environment in which to learn windsurfing.
