So today I was at the Lafayette Park and we decided to take a little hike. We ended up in the main part of the community center and found a little tot park that is SO wonderful. We had already played for an hour and a half and my daughter and her cousins played another hour and a half. There where so many cute things to play with. A big wooden fire truck kept them busy for the majority of the time. Also a sandbox! The first one I have come across since moving back here. They had rocking rides and see-saw. A spider web climbing wall and much more. There where a couple picnic tables with umbrellas. This is all fenced in and set back from the street. There were just the right amount of kids there and seemed like it was a little treasure not many people would know about. When walking by it looks like a school. We almost kept walking for that reason but I asked one of the moms and was so glad I did. Lafayette is such a wonderful place to grow up and this is just another great example of what makes this little town so special. Small town people and small town gems!!
This is such a perfect toddler park. This park was made for toddlers.
There is tons of parking! Clean Bathrooms! Water Fountain! Vending Machines! Hiking! & Really nice people!
This is one of the more shaded parks I've been to. It's winter so the trees are bare. But after spending the day in the 75 degree sun at the other park the shade from the bare trees was still a relief. I can imagine in the spring and summer when the trees are full that this park is a very comfortable park to be at.
One of the moms did inform me that there is a preschool that also uses the park. But that it is a public park and it still can be used when in use by the preschool. She said that it can be a little crowded though!
