This is only for kids with min age of 6 years. We choose from sandiegobikeandkayaktours, lajollakayak, lajollakayakfishingadventures, or sandiegotours. I did the research through their website, picked one, and went there early so we got good parking spot. Do not forget to eat breakfast, we got some people with us because it is more exciting with more people. First, they brief us about everything, then signed the liability release, after that they told us to walk to the beach, the southern part of la jolla shore. There were kayaks ready for us. We grabbed life jackets, put sunblock on, got our waterproof camera ready, and goggle (trust me). We grabbed the pedal then followed their instruction. we followed for guided tour. if you do it yourself you'll meet each other on the bottom of the last cave near la jolla cove. we passed the leopard shark area. I jumped down to the water, don't worry you got life jacket, and no they don't bite, they too small, just relax. We watched them in their natural habitat. Then we went along the caves and saw where everyone gather, we went there to see the inside of the cave safely with guide there. There were some place along the cave where I jumped down to water from our kayak to see the famous underwater park in la jolla. this was the shallow part of the park. Once again I say, don't worry, you have flotation. If you decided to swim by the shore remember to shovel the sand with your feet because there are quite some number of stingray buried themselves in the sand. My suggestion to be very careful always. my niece really loves it. So try once I promise you'll go back again.
