"great kite flying"

I have a 3 yr old and 7 yr old. We bought a kite and a boomerang to test out on the sand dunes at Kill devil hills and it was like the best kite flying experience ever! Lots of Kite shops in the area with interesting choices. My husband and 7 year old had to learn how to use the boomerang porperly but once they got the hang of it , their accuracy was amazing. The Sand is HOT in summer wear shoes that entirely cover the feet

"Good times"

A great activity to do with the entire family. Go out to the dunes and climb all the way to the top and then roll down. Yes will find sand in different places for a few days but it will worth it. I believe there is a charge to get into the park but its not that bad. On some days you can fly kites up at the top if it windy enough.

"Sand Dunes"

The sand dunes in Kitty Hawk are awesome fun!  My kids played for hours, climbing, digging and rolling down the hills.  The view of the ocean and the town of Kitty Hawk are spectacular, particularly when the sun is setting. It is also near the Wright Brothers Memorial which is very interesting.
