My kids had never been camping (they're 5 and 3), so my husband and I decided that this summer we needed to change that. We don't own a tent large enough for the whole family, so we rented a small cabin at Kitsap Memorial State Park. There are four little cabins, each sleeping 1-4 people, with a double futon, double bunk bed and single bed on the top of the bunk bed. Cabins have electricity, heat, fridges and microwaves.
We loved that the cabin opened up onto a huge grassy field with a playarea at the end. Lots of space to run and play. Other families who were there brought bikes and seemed to be having fun riding those around. We also spent time down on the beach, exploring the salt water tide pools and throwing rocks into the water. The campground is surrounded by lots of trees and beautiful views of Hood Canal.
The cabins are near the bathrooms and there are pay showers as well. This campground also has sites for tents and RVs.
