This is one of the most popular beaches in Lake Tahoe because of it's shallow waters that are relatively warmer. The beach has a playground perfect for young kids. During the summer, rent kayaks, paddle boats or just enjoy the sandy beach. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Picnic tables and lots of shade if you need to escape the intense summer sun.
This is a very family friendly beach! Ample access to bathrooms, and a decent playground near the entrance and directly behind the beach. There is not a ton of parking, and currently there is a lot of construction in the area (Spring/ Summer 2014), but otherwise it can be a great option, especially during the "off" season. We really enjoyed checking this area out in early May, when it's not quite the time of year to put on your swim suits and brave the cool temps of the lake. This time of year the beach is not crowded at all, and you basically have the playground and stunning views all to yourself :) There is a ton of sand area for setting up if you want to hang out for the day (hello perfect picnic!), and tons of great areas to walk around and just explore nature. It is a very calm and serene area, and a great choice with kids for hanging out to view the lake!
