Annual arts festival in Northport, Alabama. They have a great Kids Pavilion where kids can play with music at the musical petting zoo, carve a wooden craft, be a sculptor with clay or get their face painted. A variety of activities for children are also located throughout the park to get hands dirty and creativity flowing.
I have attended Kentuck for about 25 years and have slowly seen it change- and not for the good. I used to love going with my Mom. There would be a wide variety of art for sale-enough to satisfy anyone's taste. But now the art is so strange that I think that it would only satisfy certain people. I suppose that more people know about it now and it's grown. Which means that parking is difficult. But if you like eclectic southern art, perhaps you should check it out. Even if it's only once. If you bring your kids along, they will love checking out the funnel cake and the face-painting! And of course, dancing when the live music plays. My 3 year old can't help dancing no matter who is watching!
