If you are a bug lover, and what child isn't. This place isn't to be missed.
The John May Museum was a fun stop for my son, who has no fear when it comes to creepy crawly things! They have a gigantic beetle sculpture out front that makes for a perfect picture opportunity! Inside they have every kind of insect you can think of, including those giant cockroaches. Ew!
We first saw this place as we drove along the road on a summer camping trip, and it is hard to miss because of the GINORMOUS bug statues on the side of the road! Definitely a classic American roadside style stop, inexpensive, and especially exciting for the bug lovers in your family. There are two museums, one about space exploration and one with tons of insect specimens! Only open May through September, very fun little stop. There is also an RV and tent campsite at this location.
