"Assault and theft"

Today my 10 yr old was riding his new skateboard along the trail with me and 3 teen boys knocked him off his board, punched him, and tried to ride off on his board.  The one on his board fell off and I ran over and we got the board back.  Be careful and keep your kids close here.  I was shocked that this could happen with me standing just a 10 yards away.

"JD"

Another favorite park of ours for our 3 1/2 yr. old.  We've been going there for about a year now.  Tons of grass to kick the ball around, fun playground for 3 and under and bigger kids...bring the sand toys.  Bathrooms close to playground.  parking near the playground is crowded on the weekends, but you can park on the other side, and walk in.  They have another playground area with a climbing structure near the baseball fields.  During the summertime there are usually birthday parties going on.  Pack a picnic lunch and plan an afternoon of fun at this park.

"Great play structures, but really far apart"

Like the previous review, John D. Morgan is great for kids, but the only reason it doesn't get the 5-star rating is because of the Long March between the two. If you want to brave it with toddlers and no strollers be sure to bring lots of snacks in order to keep them moving.

The play area on the Rincon Avenue side was fun because it had lots of wet, water features. There's a water spigot on top a long cement ramp. The kids can play with the water as it flows down and the best fun is found with an area that can pool with water about 6 inches deep. Perfect for mud jumping fun.

The main water area has a spiral twisty tube the kids can run through and get sprayed on with two fountains that shoot up from the ground. Looked pretty inviting to me.

This area is geared for younger kids ages 1-8. The park on the other side has a small play area for 5 and under, but the 2 story-tower climbing structure is definitely geared for older kids 3-12. Your toddlers might brave the walk up, but the climb up is not easy for little legs and the slide down is quite steep. My 2 year old loved trying to climb up, but happily climbed right back down after looking down the tube slide and not seeing any sign of light at the bottom.

Great fun and lots of shaded areas for picnicing and resting. You'll probably hear the arrival of an ice cream truck or two during the visit as well.

"Huge park with fun water features and playgrounds"

I would have given this park 5 stars except for the fact that the two playgrounds are separated by almost a quarter mile path/field.  I went with two kids around 2 years old and they loved both playgrounds, just not the walk in-between them.

The first side we went to had a massive play structure that stood over 25 feet tall - this is more suitable for slightly older kids than ours, but still lots of fun nonetheless.  For the toddler set, the play area for them was significantly smaller and they can't help but look up in awe at the multilevel older kid park right next to their sand box.

If you're looking for a place to cool off, the playground on the other side has colorful and fun water features for kids of all ages.  Both sides have picnic areas and the park has lots of fields in between for all sorts of games and sports - or a long enough walk to really tire out your toddler.  Next time I'll bring a stroller.
