"Lots to do"

The Jean Lafitte National Park system includes Barataria Wildlife preserve. Down in Barataria, on the bayou, there are a plethora of trails to walk and wildlife to enjoy. The Decateur street location is an excellent place to get started so you can get directions and find out what trails are opened. There's also some interesting information on all of the parks.

"Louisiana at its finest."

This place is great. Not only is it educational, but it is emotionally stimulating. The environment sets one at ease with the sounds of nature emanating from the swamplands, and there are many places to set up a picnic and enjoy a family outing. The people are friendly, the weather is usually nice, and it is just a load of fun.
