For our son's third birthday, we surprised him with a trip to the Jackson Street Roundhouse. He was delighted with the experience - perhaps even a bit overwhelmed. I found it to be rather small and not very interesting. I believe it is better suited for the little ones, and possibly train lovers that just want to experience everything train related . The museum consists of about 3 stationary train cars that are open for touring. There is also a small area dedicated to railroad logos and railroad crossings. The train ride was fun for my son, but again I found it to be rather uninspired. Age: 3 years
At the Jackson Street Roundhouse, kids can go through train cars inside the building, and then go outside for a short ride on a real train. If they tire of all the trains, there are play tables and other train activities for them to do. Santa's Train Shop, held each December, offers special fun and activities for kids.
