"wonderful Library"

A great interactive library experience. My 2 children 7 and 3 yrs have agreat time. I love to come here on rainydays when you are sick of being cooped up in the house and even better it is FREE. Its also fun to take the lightrail or walk around downtown on pleasant days. There is a specialty deli/grocery across the street for a nice lunch that is not fast food

"Great place to visit again and again"

This is a great place to visit with kids anytime.  Check their hours online, as funding cuts have reduced their summer hours.  It's right on the Light Rail line, and a short walk from center Charlotte's restaurants and Bobcats Stadium.

As part of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library system, Imaginon features everything you'd expect from a library and so much more.  There are multiple levels based on your child's age - each level is perfectly suited to their interest level.  The first level book area has many interactive elements including computers and vivid eye-catching furniture and art for young children - even pre-readers.   At the top is a teen-friendly area with wireless internet service and diner-style booths for studying.

In addition, the center also hosts the Children's Theater of Charlotte which hosts a variety of kid-friendly performances throughout the year.

This place is great! It's very easily accessible from the light rail. There are tons of interactive components for the kids as well as tons of library books to check out! We especially loved the Santa's grotto and Santa visit's they put on every Christmas!

"Imaginon"

This place is so neat.  It's a great rainy or sunny day activity that is free!  Kids can play dress-up, read, play puppets or even see a show.  Children's Theatre is located inside the Imaginon.  It is also a wonderful resource center for older children.

"ImaginOn"

ImaginOn is actually part of the Mecklenburg Public Library system but it is not like any library I've ever been in before!  There are computers for kids, interactive dress up and stage areas, a whole section just for teens including a recording studio, and several rooms full of books as well.  The children's theatre also performs in the same building so you can make a great day of a trip here!
