Hulopoe Beach Park is located on Lanai's southern coast.
For most of the year, this protected spot is a favorite for snorkeling, swimming, body boarding, and exploring the many tide pools. This beach park has picnic tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, and showers. Avoid swimming in the winter due to rough conditions.
You might even catch a glimpse of a Spinner dolphin doing a trick or two or Humpback whales arriving for their annual winter visit.
Named as one of America's Best Beaches
Hulopoe Beach Park is a secluded beach, like many that you can find off the beaten path in Hawaii. The Beach Park is clean, well kept, and generally has few beach goers, making this a beach that you might have all to yourselves. The water in the bay is calm in the center and offers some decent places to play but be aware of the rocky terrain on either side.
The beauty of this beach is found in the quite and peacefulness surrounding it - you won't hear city sounds from this beach with the exception of the occasional airplane.
Now for the kicker - the beach is a protected beach. Which means you are asked to leaver every stone and shell in its place - so basically, it is a grown-up beach. Leave the kids behind, and this is a nice relaxing beach, perfect for adults.
