Hulihee Palace, built in 1838, is a two-story building commissioned by John Kuakini, Hawaii’s first governor. It was used as a summer retreat for ruling monarchs until 1916. Tours offer a chance to see the period furniture and learn about the lifestyles of Hawaii’s monarchs.
