This was another of our stops on our trolley ride. Never seen a Mall of such unique architecture. Great shopping. Unbelievable food from (it seems) all over the world. Impressive, because you couldn't even find such variety in an LA Mall. It can be a maze to navigate though. Highly recommended for teens and above.
Horton Plaza is an unconventional shopping center. It has a lot of color and tons of stairs and ramps. It looks like a big maze. It can be a fun experience, as long as you don't get frustrated when you're trying to get from here to there. The parking garage is separated into two, the fruits and vegetables. Remember to get your parking validated for free from various locations in the mall.
This mall is prety good but I do have to agree you need to search for the path with a stroller. Walking outside the shops really aren't the problem its gettin gin. We try to use the buddy system when we go here. This shop is for you so you go in and I'll wait withthe baby type of situation. But if you love forever 21 they have th laregest store here that I have ever seen and the Baby Gap is awesome.
But the worst experience I had here was I went to Macy's to nurse the baby and went to the back corner where they have the couch set up for it and there was a homeless person sleeping on it. I told security and they could have cared less. Needless to say we went to ordstroms to feed and it was much better!
I've never been a fan of Horton Plaza. I can see how it would be great if you were staying in a hotel in downtown and could walk or worked down there and needed to grab something. I think parking is a nightmare. I have been stuck in that parking structure more times than I can count. Sometimes we have to park there to go to other areas downtown, but I try to avoid it at all costs.
It has most of your typical mall stores with Nordstrom as an anchor. I think it's hard to navigate. I would go to Fashion Valley instead, it's so much better!
besides all the steps which are not a problem unless you have a stroller because then your stuck looking for the elevator on one side and then realizing the store you want to visit is on the opposite side and back and forth. It's not kid friendly at all. Maybe carrying a child along on a sling is a lot more practical. Althogh for a 15 month old the last place he wants to be is held and not allowed to run or walk around.
Named after Alonzo Horton but opened in 1985, this five-story, lavishly decoratedand landscaped open-air mall houses more than 150 shops and restaurants, fourteen movie theaters, and two live performance stages. Parking is available at an adjacent garage. Kids will love the festive atmosphere and food courts.
This mall seems like something that Dr. Seuss would have dreamed up! There are several different areas that aren't quite on the same level as each other. You can be walking on one floor and all of a sudden there are some steps that you have to cross to continue walking. It has lots of festive colors and banners, nothing too special though.
This mall offers the same shops as most Westfield malls. Not too storller friendly!! It was very tough to manuver around the different areas (too many small stair cases) if you're pushing around a stroller. The food offerings are typical. This is the first time I've evern been to a mall that was outdoors, which was an experience.
