Hollywood Sign
add photosThis location is a little tricky to find, but getting there is half the fun. You'll be winding your way up through the Hollywood Hills and getting one of the closest views possible of the Sign.
When you arrive, you'll be at one of the most beautiful dog parks in the world, so feel free to bring your furry friend along.
PARKING TIPS
Parking can be found on adjacent roads, but be sure to read signs carefully as parking enforcement is extremely rigorous. Be sure not to block any driveways as local residents will be watching!

"A must see but not really great"
The Hollywood sign is a must see...but it's really not all that impressive. For one thing, it's a long hike to actually get to the sign itself, and then it's locked off anyways...so your best bet is to take a drive to get as close as possible to it for photos. Resist the urge to take 100 pictures. It's a sign. You'll get home and realize that they all look exactly the same and then delete 99 pictures. This will not be an exciting experience for children, but for adults it's one of those must see in a lifetime kind of things!

"fun hike"
It's so much fun to walk to the Hollywood sign. You and your family will get a great work out. As soon as you reach the sign you get a great sense of accomplishment. The best part is the view! You can not get a better view than this. I took my 2 year old and she had so much fun walking up to the sign.

"Best view of the sign"
The best place to get a clear, close shot of the Hollywood sign is from Canyon Lake Drive in Lake Hollywood. Bonus - there's a grassy park there for the kids to un around while you snap away.
From the 101:
-Take Exit 11 toward Barham Blvd.
-Left on Cahuenga Blvd. West
-1st left onto Barham Blvd.
-Cross freeway and make the 1st right onto Lake Hollywood Dr.
-1st left onto Primera Ave.
-Right at fork onto La Suvida Dr.
-La Suvida crosses La Sombra & becomes Lake Hollywood Dr.
-Cross Knoll & make the 2nd right to stay on Lake Hollywood Dr.
-At the first street, make a slight left onto Montlake Dr.
-Make the 1st left onto Tahoe Dr.
-2nd right onto Canyon Lake Dr.
A little tricky to reach, but well worth it!
