It is worth going here just to see the walk of fame and two of the most iconic buildings in LA (the Chinese and El Capitan theaters). The Kodak theater is here so if you ever wanted to see where all those red carpet awards shows happen, this is is. Mostly it is touristy shopping down here. Do not stray too far off the block. The city of Hollywood is trying to revitalize its famous streets but they have only managed to do a small portion. The "adult" shops that covered most of this area in the 80s are still there if you walk into the surrounding blocks.
Located in the thumping heart of Hollywood, this enormous complex is a must-see that’s sure to please everyone in your family somehow! This signature project for Hollywood’s revitalization opened in 2001 to worldwide acclaim. It features the modern 640-room Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, more than sixty world-class retail shops and restaurants, a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley, and the Kodak Theatre, a live broadcast performing-arts center and permanent home of the annual Academy Awards Ceremony.
My son really enjoyed going to his first Build A Bear workshop located in the plaza, and California Pizza Kitchen was a good place for a family dinner. There are a lot of luxury stores there and it is connected to the Rennaissance Hotel where we stayed. Nice view of the Hollywood sign if you are there on a clear day.
