We have always enjoyed Hollywild. It is a favorite field trip and summer trip. It is more interactive than other zoos. However, the past time we went, several of the animal exhibits were empty. Call ahead. When you do go, don't miss the safari ride. There is nothing like hand feeding a buffalo or an emu!
This is an animal park that is a little scary. The cages they have the lions and tiger in don't seem very secure. We did go on the safari ride, which was very fun. You are able to feed all sorts of animals like bison and deer by hand along the trail. At Christmas, they have thousands of lights up and beautiful displays. There is also an area with a bond fire, animal feeding, pony rides, and a chance to get a picture with Santa. They sell hot chocolate, hotdogs, and more too. I would definitely recommend going at Christmas time, but might skip it for daytime visit.
Having been to zoos all over this country, this by far was the worst place I've ever seen!!! Way to many negitives to list from fly biten raw wounds, animals with xmas lights wrapped in horns,no fresh water on safari, panting hot animals with no shade & tin roofs, safety violations everywhere, huge lack of knowledge, false advertising ,no proper care for elders,ect....To the untrained eye all seems well, trust me its not all well at this park.
