The beach is clean and has ample space for spreading out on the sand. THere isn't much by way of playground, only a few swings. But the pier itself is really neat. You can walk out along the concrete pier for quite a ways. The water gets deep quickly and be careful of the undertow. It's best to keep the littler ones closer to the shallows.
Its nice, and clean. Not really very memorable. Good beaches close to Tunnel Park, which is very cool and unusual and I even remember going to as a kid. But I think you can find better beaches a bit north in grand haven, muskegon and ludington.
However, as a life long lover of lake Michigan, I say any chance you get to be near that lake(on Michigan's side) do it! its like no place on earth. An amazing, beautiful fresh-water ocean.
Holland has a few good beaches and this is one of them. Tunnel park is also close by this beach and both of them are nice family beaches to go to. Parking is sometimes difficult to find if you don't want to pay because it is expensive. But it is possible to walk there.
Whether you like to lounge by the beach or go for a swim, you'll be happy here. This is a gorgeous beach. You can spend the whole day out here with the kids swimming and making sand castles. Then, you can watch a beautiful sunset to put an end to a wonderful family day.
We like this expansive beach because, even in the middle of a hot summer day, it does not feel crowded. The sands are clean and the water is shallow enough for small children. This is a very kid-friendly place. But get there early - we saw a line of cars waiting to get into the beach when we left in mid-afternoon.
