A unique event held each year during the holidays in charming Old Town Alexandria where boat owners decorate their boats in holiday lights for the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights.  These sailing and power boats cruise the city's historic waterfront on the Potomac River.  Owners compete in various categories for the best decorations.  Live entertainment and a visit from Santa. The best place to view the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights is the from the docks of the Alexandria marina.
