Home of the Oakland A's Spring Training.
I was lucky enough to visit this newly renovated stadium for an A's v. Cubs spring training game.
Parking is $5, cash only. The parking attendants have everything really well organized. They lead you directly into a spot so you don't have to drive up and down aisles trying to find one.
The stadium is small (7500 seats plus lawn) so you have a great view of the field no matter where you are. The terrace seats are covered by a shade canopy. Shade makes a huge difference in the Arizona sun, so if you don't like to be hot, sit here. The good thing about lawn seats, despite being in direct sunlight, is there is lots of room for restless kids to run around. The players also warm up right there. I saw lots of kids standing practically next to players as they practiced pitching. Personal umbrellas are allowed for shade as long as they are smaller than 48" in arc and do not interfere with others ability to see the game.
The new HD scoreboard is quite impressive. A crystal clear picture displayed player photos and stats, as well as the score.
The stadium offers concessions, but there are also vendors selling everything from noodles to gelato. Make sure to bring cash for treats and souvenirs.
This stadium was clean and well organized. I would suggest visiting this stadium for a Spring Training game.
I was treated to this game by Visit Phoenix, but the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
