"Always Adding!"

My two year old loves this zoo!  There are many activities for kids on the go!  There is a train and a carousel.  The bird show is definitely worth watching!  They also have quite a large selection as far as food goes.  In the winter the Zoo Lights is a lot of fun, but don't plan on seeing many animals other than the animated lights.

"We love this place!"

This has to be one of my kid's favorite places in the valley. They have made MASSIVE improvements to the habitats since I was a kid and I think it is fantastic.  The big cat exhibit is amazing, especially if you go during the winter!  All the cats are out and you get to actually see them playing not just sleeping!  The brand new Seal/ Sea Lion exhibit is a great addition too.  We could spend an hour just sitting there watching them play.  It is well worth the money to go, especially if you buy the season pass~

"Crowded and pricey"

This place can be a crowded mess sometimes. They do christmas "zoo lights" during the winter, and normal zoo exhibits during the summer. It is usually pretty crowded and parking is a nightmare. It is a little pricey. If you came here once, you wouldnt have to ever come back again. It's not that great.

"A good day out"

I wouldn't consider it one of the better zoo's I've been to. They are remodeling it right now so most of the zoo was shut down and the parts that weren't shut down barely had any animals. The new exhibits with the polar bear and seals were fun.  Most of the other animals had tiny homes or wouldn't come out.  It was a fun day and my 2 year old loved it. I probably won't go back until it's all renivated. Then it might be worth the price to get in.

"Hogle zoo"

The Hoggle Zoo is by no means like the San Diego Zoo,  but I also don't think my kids would enjoy it if it was.   I have little kids that don't want to spend all day at a zoo.  The Hoggle Zoo is perfect because it isn't super expensive and it is a nice size for young kids.  They have a bird show that is really great and you get to see the birds fly over head and do some tricks.

"A nice zoo for our family"

I like the Hogle Zoo. It is perfect for our family of younger children. They are excited by the animals, even though it is not a very large zoo. They have done extensive renovations and the buildings look much more appealing than they did before, but I still think the animals look not as well taken care of.  We go here once a year, usually in the spring or fall when it's not as hot.

"Not the greatest, but good"

The Hogle Zoo was enjoyable, but not the greatest thing we could have spent $9 per person on. My husband and I went with our 6 month and two year-old sons, as well as our two year-old nephew, and 7 and 11 year-old nieces. For a city the size of Salt Lake the zoo was surprisingly small and did not have a large variety of animals. There were tigers but no lions. They had one elephant, a giraffe, and a camel. I was disappointed by the lack of parking spaces and the construction going on inside the zoo itself. My sons liked the life-size mechanical dinosaurs on display, but I wish they had had a greater variety of animals and a more user-friendly set up. All-in-all, my kids enjoyed the animals, which is really all the mattered, but I wouldn't spend $9 again!

"Family Fun"

The Hogle Zoo is a great place to take the family. You can spend an hour or a whole day looking at exhibits, going to the shows, and having a simple lunch or snack. I recommend going Monday through Thursday or on Sunday, these days seem to be less crowded. Make sure to take the kids on the train, its short but fun for the little ones.

"Good Price"

My kids (1,3, and 6 yrs) love to go to this zoo. There is a carousel and train (for more $). The kids are is a little hidden but my kids love to play on the playground, which has a giant spider web. There are lots of hills so be prepared to hike. We like the tiger exhibit because you can usually see him well. Be sure to go into the animal houses so you don't miss the many creatures that live in there. And the bird show is great. Get to it early or you wont get a seat, or if you do, you'll have to sit in the sun.

"Fun at the Zoo"

My children love to see animals and I think the Hogle Zoo is a great place to go to do just that! The first thing we always have to do is ride the train. My favorite isto go see the big cats - the best time to see them is in the winter - they really are more active then! The last time I was there - December - there was still quite a bit of construction, so that limited some of the animals, but I believe it should be done soon and I'm excited to see everything that is new!

"Hogle zoo"

This zoo is wonderful! I didn't get to go very often as a kid, but I for sure will take my daughter there every year! It's a great place for kids especially. But even for adults, it's a great place to go to hang out! I love seeing the peacocks just roaming around free. Great sites!

"Hogle Zoo- always fun"

My in-laws have given us a pass to the zoo for Christmas the last few years and we love it.  The kids never get tired of visiting.  We love the bird show and the small animals shows.  The playground is always a big hit and we are excited for the new exhibit opening this summer with otters and bears and the like!

"Fun times at the Zoo"

The Zoo is always fun! We love to go every other year or so and take our time. The Zoo is on a hill, so make sure you are okay with walking up and down hill. The shows are fun, especially the bird show! The kids get all wide-eyed! Be prepared with coupons or go on the free days in the winter season. The gate price is a little much, but kids two and under are free.

"A fun day out"

The Hogle Zoo is a fun family place and we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of animals there.  We had heard it was okay but not great.  But we really enjoyed our day and our 3 young kids really loved it.  They are also constantly making improvements.  Check it out!

"Be ready for walking!"

The Hogle Zoo is home to some fun animals, but be sure to bring a good stroller and be ready for hills. Lots of walking to be done. Visiting in the winter is great, many of the animals are more active during the cooler months. Highly recommend bringing a picnic so you can take a break during the day.

"Good Times!"

We love visiting the zoo! Even in the winter months it's great to take advantage of their free or discounted zoo days. Those are the perfect times to visit the indoor exhibits, plus the animals tend to be more active. Bring a stroller for the little ones as there are some big hills to climb. We always pack lunch as well, and usually splurge on either a train ride or a spin on the carousel.

"We always have fun!"

The Hogle Zoo is well organized, clean, and periodically offers "free admission" days to the public. The staff are friendly, our our kids are in heaven with the rotating exhibits. The lines are sometimes long and the wait seems even longer if it's a hot summer day. There are plenty of ways to keep cool while there - wear hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. My children's personal favorite is the monkey exhibit, and the bear exhibit. The environment is beautiful and the habitats that the animals are in are well kept. We are sure to make a trip to the Hogle zoo at least 5 times a year. During the Christmas month, there are "zoo lights", which make it so fun and magical for my kids. I recommend coming to the Hogle Zoo if you are in Utah.

"Wonderful Zoo"

My son loves going to the Hogle Zoo any time of year.  The animals are fun, of course.  Plus, he loves the train ride and carousel.  The children's play area is also fun and exciting.  The Christmas Lights are also a big draw--he loved seeing Santa ride into the zoo!  We always have a great time!

"Best zoo in Utah"

The exhibts are great and everything is conveintent. Can't say how many times I hear " I'm thirsty" or " I have to go potty" only to get lost looking around, but not here. Better for older kids but I plan on having my sons first birthday here because what toddler doesn't love animals. Food prices are high so pack some snacks.
I always bring,
-a stroller (even bigger kids get tired walking around)
-snacks
-water
-sunscreen
-CAMERA ( the pictures you get are priceless)

"Small but Quaint"

It's true this is not a large zoo you may be familiar with when visiting larger cities, but I think it's the perfect size for young children since they would be bored with anything more than a few hours anyways. It's an activity that could last only a few hours and you could accomplish before lunch and nap.
