This shop is evidently family owned and it was a great little place to visit. There is a tour available of the chocolate factory and if you are in the shop, there are windows that allow you to see inside the factory and just watch the people make the chocolate. I could have sat there all day smelling the chocolate and watching it being made. The staff was super friendly and there is even a little ice cream shop inside the shop too. We also loved the garden behind the shop and the little train that is set up in the back area. Such a great little place to visit and spend a little time, and the chocolate was amazing!
On the return trip to the coast, watch the modern-day candy-making process at Hoffman's, ,seated in a Bavarian Tudor building within a quiet botanical garden setting. A model Candyland Railroad train runs through the grounds. You can watch the kitchen through a glass wall. Everyone gets a free sample. During the holidays (beginning the weekend before Thanksgiving), the site turns magical with lights, music, Santa, and performances by local artists and schools.
