"Food Fanatics..."

My family loves to try new things and new foods being one of our favorite things to try.  Here at the market you will get to see familiar foods that you don't get to eat very often due to lack of availability or see food that you've never heard of and have no idea how to eat.
Not only is food available here, but native musica instruments.  Jewelry.  My husband bought me this unique bracelet made from the seed of some flower, which i can not recall the name of this moment.  But I love wearing it for it's a great conversatino piece.
Because this market is crowded, be sure to keep your wee ones close.  Even on less busier days during the week.

"One of Hilo's Best"

Proclaimed the best farmers’ market in all Hawaii, the Hilo Farmers Market is a must-see. Choose from the finest, freshest variety of exotic fruits, vegetables, and flowers, including lychee, starfruit, coconut, papaya, orchid, anthurium, heliconia, bird-of-paradise, protea, and even gardenia and roses. Be prepared to purchase more fruits and flowers than you’ll ever need. Residents of other Hawaiian islands fly in regularly to Hilo just to shop here.

"Hilo Highlight"

If it's your first time, I guarantee you will see, smell, and taste things you never have before, and meet unusual but friendly people.  Try to go during the week, as it gets crowded on weekends -- sometimes have to park a few blocks away, and it's literally elbow to elbow inside the market.  A lot of the merchandise is easily within a child's reach, and some of it is expensive.

"Island favorites at its freshest"

we're a pretty hardcore farmers' market family, and this is our favorite farmer's market that we've ever been to. they have lots of great tropic fruits -- rambutan, lychees, mangoes and plenty of local fare like spam musubi. it's totally casual, but so worth it. great place to stop for a super casual lunch. bring your own wipes and be prepared to eat standing up.
