Hershey's Really Big 3D show is $5.95 for adults (13-61), $4.95 for children (3-12), and $5.45 for seniors (62+).
We live close to Hershey and this is our rainy day activity. The best part is it's free and the kids never get tired of it. Free candy at the end. You can tell it's fresh from the factory. We ride several times. Of course there's food and gift shops. I highly recommend the large cookies. Delicious!
Consistently rated one of the best factory tours in the US, Hershey's Chocolate World is well worth the visit. My family has gone every year for many years, as we live within 2 hours of Hershey. It is relaxing, interesting, educational, entertaining, family-friendly, and free. It's a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of HersheyPark and certainly something your family should make time for at least once on your trip through the area.
Chocolate World is located right next to HersheyPark, although operates separately, so you can go there independent of the amusement park. It's air-conditioned, so it can be quite a treat on a hot summer day to duck in here to cool down and calm down.
The ride itself lasts about 10 minutes. It's very slow and suitable for all members of the family. Throughout the ride, you are treated to educational tidbits about the chocolate-making process and about Hershey's in general. It makes you appreciate the place a little more I think and adds context to everything. I enjoyed this a lot. They also make it fun for kids with singing cows and tempting chocolaty smells. Really, though, it's not the "ride", it's what you see and hear along the way that makes it interesting.
When you hop off and exit, you're treated to a free chocolate candy, made all the more sweet by your knowledge of how it was crafted. You are then free to shop the gift store or purchase some chocolate. No, it's not the most economical place to purchase their chocolates, but it's certainly one of the most fun.
Other attractions here include a 3D movie and a "factory experience." My kids did the (extra cost) factory experience when they were preschoolers and loved it.
Bring your camera and treat it as a relaxing opportunity to learn about Hershey and his world of chocolates. It's one of the better factory tours and certainly worth a taste if you're in the area.
Hershey's Chocolate World is basically the history of Hershey and also the makings of their Chocolate. Here you will learn who Hershey is, how the first chocolate was made, and they also show you the process of making hershey chocolate. You ride through the factory and watch how chocolate is made and also get your picture taken at the end. Oh and don't forget to get your free chocolate bar on your way out. The admission is free here, and even if charged it would be well worth it. This is for kids just as much as adults, the children will love watching the chocolate be made, and riding around the factory on the ride.
This was a really fun place to visit. We did the factory tour, and learned all about making Hershey kisses. We loved the samples, and the costumed "candy". Of course the best part was the store, and stocking up on plenty of delicious chocolate! The tour was a good length to keep even young kids entertained.
Its been years but this is one of my favorite vacation spots as a young adult !!!! Supper kid friendly and if you love chocolate you are in luck, the whole town is pretty amazing the street lights are shaped like hershey kisses , if they still do them a tour of the plant is fun too.
If you love chocolate then this is the place to be. So much fun. You can take the tour and see how chocolate is made and at the end they give you a chocolate bar. How cool is that?! Just an over all fun place. The gift shop is full of neat things to buy. Love the M & M stuff. The street lights are Hershey kisses, some wrapped some not. You can get your picture taken on a street light and that is really cool too! Fun for all kids young and old!!!
You can't go to Hershey without visiting chocolate world! I've been through it countless times and still enjoy the wonderful smells and little educational adventure with the kids. It's especially fun to see how they make all those little Hershey kisses. Now, I probably would not make a special trip to Hershey just for chocolate world because it's not a long tour, but if you are in the area, it's a must see, and free!
Who would say no to smelling delicious chocolate while learning how it's made? And then at the end of the ride they give you a free Hershey's bar! I mean if that's not a great ride I don't know what is, it's an educational fun mini-trip & I enjoyed it just as much as the kids did, definitely stop by here if you're close by, you won't regret it...I'd go on it again & again if I had the chance :) The chocolate/Hershey's souvenir shop are bit on the expensive side though, but what do you expect?
hey they give you free chocolate, what more can you ask for? seriously, this places is a great stop in a town full of great stops! our daughter and son love to ride the "tour of the factory" and I love getting free chocolate at the end. the candy bar that you get is different depending on the day you go. and the best part is you can ride as many times as you want and they still give you the chocolate!
the gift shop areas are full of amazingly yummy products, not only in taste but also in their prices! you are sure to find any and every hershey product here that you could possibly want.
they also have some pretty cool add-on activities that do cost money but if you are making memories and this is a once in a lifetime experience then go for it! you can have a bottle of hershey syrup personalized to keep forever or you could make your very own personalized candy bar creation to take home! try to not eat that one though!
We live fairly close to Hershey's Chocolate World so we try to visit at least once a year. All 6 of my children love it! They have a free ride and give you a complimentary piece of chocolate at the end. Plus they have a "factory" where kids can package hershey kisses. Fun for the whole family!
They do have some fun rides that are educational. But the tour is definitely geared more towards younger kids. Also beware of the expensive shops and the massive amounts of candy for sale. The 3D movie was fun. I enjoyed visiting but not a place I would choose to go back.
Hershey's Chocolate World is a Chocolate lover's dream come true! There are many activities to choose from. The "ride" that takes you through the factory process is really great for kids and adults alike. It is also very handicap accessible, and they are very helpful with getting wheelchairs onto the ride. The 3D movie is cute. There is an option to make your own candy bar, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. We did not try that. The cafe area is great with cookies, ice cream, coffee, hot chocolate, anything chocolate! The best part is you get free candies as you finish rides, etc. I would definitely recommend a stop at Hershey's!
This FREE tour begins in a tropical rainforest where cocoa beans grow and are harvested. Then follow their journey across the ocean to America and their delivery to THE SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH - Hershey, Pennsylvania. The cocoa beans continue through a simulated HERSHEY'S chocolate factory where you'll see, feel, smell and hear the delicious transformation from bean to milk chocolate. and at the end you get a FREE HERSHEY'S product sample! You also get you create your own candy bar !
So the ride that takes you through Hershey’s Chocolate World is exciting. The kids get to learn and see how chocolate is made and in the end you get a yummy free piece of candy. We have always enjoyed the ride and go on it each time we visit. This last time it seems our luck ran out! The ride broke down and of all places we were stuck in the oven. The kids laughed about it though and the ride was fixed promptly.
The town of Hershey is quaint and cute if a little bit too touristy. Most of the activities for families come with a hefty price tag but the world of chocolate tour is free. We enjoy learning how the world famous Hershey chocolate is made but try to avoid the costly souviniers at the end of the ride.
Hershey's Chocolate World is fun for all ages. There is a ride showing people how Hershey makes the chocolate. I think it is simple enough for middle-schoolers to understand. At the end of the ride they hand out a free mini version of hershey's candy or chocolate. You can ride the ride as many times as you want. The kids want to ride it more than once most of the time. It is free to get into Chocolate World and only takes about an hour or two to go through.
Hershey is great because not only is there an amazing park there to visit with tons of rides and awesome things to do, see and eat--there is the super cool chocolate tour! You can tour the factory and even get a free treat to eat! It is a great way to spend a day or a weekend and the town itself is so beautiful that you really can't go wrong!
The free aspects of Hershey's Chocolate World are fun for very young children. This includes a ride through a small set up with singing cows and videos which explains how chocolate is made. At the end of the ride you receive a free piece of chocolate. For those who are willing to spend money there is a candy making excursion, an interactive 3D movie (which scared my toddlers to death, but would delight older children) and a food court and store with chocolate and Hershey Brand merchandise. If you don't plan on spending money, the free fun will last you around an hour.
Every time we are in the area, we head here. The chocolate world ride is always free, and the kids love the free small piece of chocolate at the end. It's a great way to learn about the process Hershey uses, while being entertained and on a ride at the same time. We also love heading down to the shop area, and checking all the delicious desserts being sold, and looking for new varieties of chocolates. We are never disappointed!
What a great place! First of all, to just do the ride, which gives kids an idea of how chocolate is made, you pay NOTHING...that's always nice. The ride includes music, visuals, and heat (for the oven). Then, you always get some free chocolate. They've recently added some other attractions which cost money, but are worth it: getting to design your own chocolate bar or pretend you're in the factory itself. There is also a 3d theatre. During the show, there are fun things like confetti, blowing air, and squirting water. A great place to take kids any time of year!
