"Hermann Heights Park"

This is a good place for a picnic and to play on the playground.  The playground and swings are modern and interest all ages.  There are picnic tables and shelters which have to be reserved.  When you are feeling adventurous climb to the top of Hermann and look around.  There is a small but informative museum under the statue.  We like to wave a Hermann when we drive by!

"As long as you aren't afraid of heights"

Those who dare climb up Hermann get magnificent views of New Ulm, the Minnesota River Valley, and the surrounding farmland.  Those (like me) who get scared on the first landing still get to see some of the beauty of the area.  It doesn't cost much to go up, and there's a nice park next to the monument.  A trip to Hermann makes a nice summer afternoon outing.
