Have been a few times. My daughter is 10 months and just starting to walk so it wasn't much fun. Parks play area looks great if she were older. Hiking is dirt trails that my jogging stroller would not go on so I had to carry her in our bjorn carrier (Atascadero is HOT in the summer). Dog park in my opinion is terrible. Play area is on a hill, hard dirt with little shade for them. I would rather drive the 45 min to the El Chorro dog park than the 5 min to this park.
This park is great to take your dogs to, but I'm not a huge fan of taking my son there. They do have a little water spritzer thing that many kids enjoy, but you can do that with a sprinkler for the same affect. There is a lot of grass surrounding the area which makes for nice picnics.
My kids could probably spend all day at the water play area at this park. What a great idea. Honestly, we have spent so little time in the rest of the park that I am not sure my kids really know there is anything else to do here. If you are looking for something to do on a warm day, this is a great place to go.
We love going to Heilmann Park in Atascadero in the summertime because they have a really cute spray area. There are lots of different nozzles where water shoots up from the ground. It might be a good idea to have the kids wear water shoes, as the ground can be pretty slippery.
Heillman Park includes a golf course, a Frisbee golf course, a dog park, two play structures, picnic bench seating and a water feature. Kids LOVE the water shooting from the ground. Make sure to bring swimsuits and towels because it can be guaranteed that they'll be getting wet!
This park has a lot of fun trails to hike and playgrounds to play on. One park even has a very small water area where if you push a button, water will come out of spickets and the ground. The park overall doesn't have anything overly fun and is a little worn down which is why it doesn't have as many stars. There are several bbq areas though, a dog park, trails, and a frisbee golf course.
