During Halloween Time and through the holidays, the Haunted Mansion gets a special theme celebrating quirky fun based on Tim Burton's Film, "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
So cute and fun. So much to look at. Perfect for all ages, and you will love the adorable music and effects. I can't get enough of this ride! The new theme for holidays is "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (one of my favorite movies...so you can see why I love it. I think you will too. Watch out for Jack Skellington's big head above you at the very beginning!
Loved the Tim Burton version that is available during the holidays. Wasn't sure if it would be worth waiting in the line, but it was. Lots of fun! The anticipation for my kids was scarier than the ride itself. Loved details like the smells that are pumped into rooms to match the themes (think finder read or pine). Very creative. I think you could go on it several times and notice something different each time.
My five-year-old cannot handle the normal Haunted Mansion. By the time you exit the "elevator" and have to walk down the hallway to the "doombuggy", she loses it and we head for the exit. That being said, the Holiday ride, based on Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", changes everything to a more whimsical, festive spirit. Where a majority of the ride (in a five-year-old's mind) was originally quite scary, it is now filled with fun, wit and humor. If your kids are a fan of the movie, they will especially find this ride fantastic!
**Older kids or those *hoping* to be scared might be a little disappointed as the ride really does lose a lot of it's spook-appeal. Have them head to California Adventure and ride Tower of Terror- they won't be disappointed!**
My kids just love the Haunted Mansion Holiday. They find the regular Haunted Mansion to be pretty scary (they are 5) but the holiday mansion is just plain fun! The ride brings to life Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas and is filled with zany Halloween twists on Christmas traditions such as Christmas trees with Jack O'Lantern ornaments and presents covered in orange and black paper. We make a trek every year just to ride this ride during holiday time.
