"Did I really even have to give this a one star? Really - should have negative stars"

I went on Friday night - the opening night.  I see from the other two reviews that things did not improve on Sat. or Sun.  Got there at 6:00 to get the lay of the land.  The haunted house which was supposed to open by then wasn't and people seemed to be milling around trying to decide which character they would be in the house - that should have been my first clue. We were mainly there to see Sergie & Ryan from Paranormal State at 7:00.  They were late, they had technical problems and finally went on at 8:00. Then afterwards we went to the Haunted House. The haunted house which they called extreme for adults at night was a complete joke.  I think they forgot to switch over from family friendly to adult.  Extremly lame is what I called it.  I think they bought their props at Walmart.  Sadly, there were only about 25 people for the paranormal show and then another 10 people at the haunted house.  There was a group of 4 waiting to get in.  My husband and I had speed passes - really considering the lack of crowds, I really don't know why we bothered - but since we had the Paranormal State talk at 7:00, we figured it would be nice to avoid the long lines.  So we were able to go in w/ a small group waiting inside the entrance of the house.  The guy running the house told the other 4 in the regular line that their group was too small and they'd have to wait for others.  Dude, seriously, look around - there was nobody left in the place.  They guy at the house told us that the walk was having technical difficulties.  We went there after and it wasn't running.  Two people w/ us at the walk line tried to get their money back (w/o success).  As for the light show, it was non-existent on Friday night too - we were there until 10:00 and there were supposed to be at 8:45 and 9:45.  The band they had playing was horrible.

This was advertised on their website as a professional event run by Rockville Fear Factory with various local sponsors.  As I pulled into the lot, I was asked for $2.00 parking for Tolland Athletic Department which I didn't mind paying but was a little put out that the website failed to mention a parking fee - especially after paying such high entrance fee prices.  But I quickly realized that maybe this event was actually a school fundraiser as those in the house to "scare" people seemed like high school kids and their school counselors.  I think that if that is true, then that should have been mentioned.  I have emailed the main guy at Rockville Fear Factory (dcrwf11@comcast.net) with my complaints but have not received a response.  In addition, I googled the company and found a professional haunt website where he was actually asking for advice for running an event back in 2008.  I told him not to quit his day job.

Oh and I too noticed that food vendors were packing up by 10:00 the first night too.

"What happened?????"

I gave a star because I had to. Went to the fair on Sunday and they were packing up. The kids waited all day to go and at 4:30ish most of the rides and vendors were already gone. When we asked some vendors what the scoop was nobody could give us an answer. Luckily we were able to go to Scantic Valley Farm on  9th District Rd.(right around the corner) to the corn maze which was awesome. VERY DISSAPPPOINTED!!!

"VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!"

hello I normally do not type letters like this but I would like to let you know myself and a friend drove an hour to the Haunted harvest fair in anticipation to ride the rides eat food hear tunes and go to the hunted house and walk. it is sat. 10/16/10 we get there at 7 PM we pay $20 each and see the rides just turn off there lights and close. we figure em ok weird maybe they are taking a brake. so we look for the restroom find it come out to try the food just to see people packing up its not even 8 yet. so we figure we would head over to the hunted house. after a 1/2 hour wait we get in, I must say it was cute and worth $5 more  buck. so we get out and head over to the walk thinking ok this should be worth the other 5. we wait and get told by a guy in orange that it will be 15 min. so my friend and I head to the band and listen for a bit. its about 845-9 should be a light show but wasn't. yet another let down. so we head back over to the walk just as 2 girls ALSO in orange to tell us and a group of about 10 that the walk is closed. its like 9 PM. so my friend this group of people and myself walk over to the ticket booth to ask for at least half our money back. because we ONLY got to go into the hunted house and that's it. I would like to mention one of the guys in the group that were waiting with us was indeed drunk and rude but I do not know that man. so when a man in the orange comes up with a cop we tell him what happened and of course drunk guy it cussing but still. the man said we do not refund money. and told,d the drunk guy to leave witch was understandable. but when I pointed to the sign with states hunted house AND FAIR is $200 and we didn't get the fair he said sorry and I asked for 10 back because I got half, even thou is was less, a fair. he said no got VERY rude. and told us to leave NOW. then a girl suggested we get to come back for free he still rude said whatever and asked the elderly woman for and pen and paper to write downs names, he rudely said ok. all of us who wanted our money back looked at each other trying to see who goes first the guy NEVER MIND JUST GET THE HELL OUT. so we leave the officer saw all this did nothing. that was false advertisement one and that man was VERY RUDE.
