Wildlife viewing opportunities are abundant with gray whales on their winter and spring migrations, Harbor seals, California sea lions, sea birds and the rich marine gardens make the park a fascinating stop.
We've never had to pay for day use. Camping has basic Oregon state parks fees and hours.
One of our favorite Oregon beaches! There's plenty of shelter, open spaces, tide pools, and rocks to climb if you have children who like to act like monkeys! Mid-summer, our kids swim as well, but it's better for sandcastles, picnics, and kite flying.
There is a nice campground as well (with Oregon's famous yurts!) but you need to book early. Bathrooms and foot showers for all that sand that clings to bare feet is located in the parking area.
Not far from the Redwoods and northern California attractions.
