My boys were certainly worn out by the end, but this was a great hike. The views are spectacular, the flora is beautiful. Beware ticks!! There is some poison oak only in the valley section, as well as some prohibited sections. There's a nice bluff trail which is small and nice, but it does go along the edge so be careful with smaller children. As said by others, its about 1 1/2 miles out, with some extra small trails that go down to the rocks. But the end of the trail gets little steep for kids to the bottom.
This hike is absolutely beautiful. We have hiked the trail with our 3 year old in the BOB stroller and our infant in a backpack carrier. There are bathrooms along the trail so that is always a plus. It is a great family outing and just long enough that you feel like you've gotten a great workout!!! Be sure to bring a jacket on foggy days!
This hike slopes upward gently, meandering over a hill to bluff views right on the Pacific Ocean. It is approx. 2 miles in, then you return the way you came. There are rest room .5 miles or less in. The first part is coastal ranch with lots of thistle, then it goes up through a small canyon and once you're through you see the water. Can be done with a BOB stroller, but we used a hiking backpack to carry my 14-month-old.
