"Amazing Historical Homestead"

There are not too many examples of this old of a homestead still around and so nicely preseved.  This is a very educational and beautiful place to visit offering guided tours and also special events taking place at differnent times of the year.  We especially enjoyed the tour they offer around Christmas time.  It included a horse drawn wagon ride, candlelight tour, live music, campfire and a few other exhibits, all very well done.

"Fun with the Family"

The date 1719 appears on the door lintel of the Hans Herr House. The Mennonite home is the oldest surviving home of European settlers in what is now Lancaster County. Andrew Wyeth, himself a relative of Hans Herr, created a well-known painting of the house.
