In our world a stunning, sensational view is simply not enough! You've got to have the wind rushing through your hair, multimedia tours to stimulate the mind and elevators to leave you breathless too.

To avoid the crowds, come before 11:00am or after 6:00pm. You can find specific sunset times at www.sunrisesunset.com. (By the way, any time at night is good for those starry skylines.)

"Beautiful views, educational"

I'm a sucker for amazing views and the Hancock has got some of the best. Standing 94 stories up in the air, older kids love checking out the open-air view of the Magnificent MIle from the Skywalk while having their hair blown around by the winds of the Windy City. No glass-bottom floors like the Willis Tower / Sears Tower, but still a unique experience.

Inside your kids can pose for a picture as a construction worker lying on a construction beam or a window washer dangling high above the city. Both are great Kodak moments.

For elementary school kids learning about the Constitution, John Hancock is full of history about one of our great founding fathers and his famous signature.

"View from Above"

This is the best view you can get of Chicago. It's best to go on a clear day. Being so high above the ground, if you go on a cloudy day, that's all you'll see looking down, clouds. The restaurant is superb, though pricey or a less expensive option, visit the lounge, order a few appetizers and enjoy the views.

"Nice way to see the city from above"

Enjoying a refreshing beverage and seeing the beautiful views is a great way to end a day of sight-seeing in Chicago.  There is no cost to enter the restaurant and all of the views are wonderful, even from the ladies restroom!  Be sure to go on a clear day!

"Beautiful!"

The John Hancock Center Observatory tower offers a panoramic view of the city from the 95th floor. Hang onto your stomach for the 40-second elevator ride that takes you to the top. You may want to give kids a piece of gum ahead of time or babies a pacifier to help keep their ears from popping. It’s worth it once you get up there. It’s true: On a clear day you can see forever.
