The Hagley Museum has a peaceful setting along a small river in Wilmington, DE. It is the location where the DuPont family began their business manufacturing explosives. The grounds are well kept and family friendly. In fact, the second floor of the visitor center is interactive for children! Once you have purchased your tickets you can either take their small bus or walk to each of the exhibits. You will pass several exhibits including the Powder Yard on your way to the final exhibit, the DuPont family home. The only actual guided tour is in the family home but the exhibits have staff there to explain them and answer any questions. It makes for a relaxing day and even has an organic cafe on the grounds for lunch. Fun for all ages!
