Split Rock's waterpark is located onsite and is a nice way to spend some time whether you're staying at the resort or not. It's fun for all ages, although I thought younger kiddos would especially appreciate it.
This waterpark allows visitors to test their surfing skills on the FlowRider, or frolic in the wave pool. Kids can also whiz down the slides: Viper, Piranha and Amazon Blast. There's also the Leaping Lizards play area and Jungle Falls for them to enjoy as well. It's big enough to be entertaining, yet small enough not to have to worry about losing your kids in the confusion.
My family spent some time here and were attracted to the vast amount of light that the skylights let in. It was nice to feel connected to the outside a bit even on the cold of winter. Kids of all ages can wander from one water activity and play area to the next. We tried them all out or observed them in action and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. There are lifeguards and staff to help you if needed, a snack bar for grabbing some food when you're hungry, and lots of seating in loungers. We found it easy to park our things by our chairs and then come back to it when we needed something. Be aware, you need to bring your own towels to this waterpark, as they are not supplied. You will hate yourself if you forget (as I heard some visitors complaining), but once you know, you can plan ahead. There are also locker rooms and bathrooms here for your use.
Day passes can be purchased for this venue, so don't think you need to stay at the resort to play. There were several busses of families that came while we were there, so it looks like groups within a certain vicinity like to frequent the place for an afternoon or morning of fun. It was not very crowded when we were there, even with the busses, so we thought it was plenty big. The entire place is not one of the mega-waterparks, but rather a smaller version that offers those not interested in the bigger venues a chance to play and enjoy themselves. They do special events like teen nights with cool music so all ages can feel included.
Come here to splash and soak if you're interested in a little indoor water play and enjoy this smaller waterpark thats big fun for the little ones!
*Disclosure: My family was provided complimentary passes to the waterpark in order to facilitate this review. The opinions, however, are entirely my own.
This was a fun water park. My kids loved it. It did get a little busy once a couple school buses came just after lunch time, but we left to take a breakl and had the place pretty much to ourselves when we came back just before dinner time. The price was a little on the high side, but it covers all day and you can come and go as you choose. There is a small toddler area and more slides for older kids (about 6 and up). It was an overall fun day!
