Perhaps you or your kids have read The Good Earth or other books by Pearl S. Buck. The author settled in this farmhouse at Green Hills Farm. In her office here she wrote more than one hundred novels. Buck was not only a writer but also a humanitarian— an early supporter of human rights, civil rights, and women’s rights.
Her home still houses the offices of Pearl S. Buck International, “bringing hope to children worldwide.” The oldest section of the house was built in 1740, with sections added in 1825 and 1935. The furniture, artifacts, and contemporary artwork represent a true blending of East and West.
