"Stretch Your Legs!"

I'm a bit stymied as to why this is a considered a National Park. Mine eyes hath seen the glory of America's treasures....and this does not compare.  It seems more of a very nice county park, honestly. Anyway, if you don't come expecting Yosemite grandeur, its a nice place to spend a day.  Its fun to watch kayakers tackle the falls.  Bring a picnic and sit on the rocks and watch the action.

"Lovely"

We were on our way home from D.C. and made a detour here.  The visitor's center is small but informative and the staff very friendly.

We enjoyed watching the falls and the kayakers in the water.  My kids were amazed at the flood markers and how high the water has risen in years past.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to hike, we would have loved to explore the park more.  However, the falls were worth the stop.

"River Trail to Matildaville Trail Loop"

This my favorite trail to take my children because there is great rock scrambling and climbing, fantastic views of the waterfall, river, and kayakers, and a big open old quarry to have a picnic and run around. This circuit hike is 3 miles long. There is also a small nature center inside the visitors center.
