If you are a beginner or expert, which means, guided or unguided, this is the classic activity to do in the mountains besides ski. They also have a snowmobile just for kids that they can take on a groomed lap course!
One of the WORST experiences I've ever had on a vacation. The office cashier was uninformative and disinterested in his customers. That was just the start.
When we go outside the office to be oriented to the snowmobiles, our guide is texting on his cell phone while giving instructions. He failed to mention several key features of how to operate the snowmobiles, such as if there was a reverse on the machines. He did not properly inspect the machines for gas and did not run through any sort of safety checklist. He even told us we would crash the snowmobiles...guaranteed. I wish I was lying.
When we return halfway through our tour, one of the guides happens to see that one of our machines is out of gas and frantically takes the machine and fills it back up to continue our tour. (If we had not come back halfway through the day, we would have been stuck out on the mountain due to the staff's irresponsibility.)
Near the end of our tour, 4 out of 5 of our machines stalled and failed to start up. We sent the 5th snowmobile to get help from the guides. We were stranded out in the forest past sunset and when we finally manage to get our faulty machines running and head back, we see that the guides had been sitting at their office waiting for us to return. They refused to go out and recover our machines, no matter if they had broken down or not.
Overall, while the little snowmobiling we did was great fun, the experience with the staff and irresponsibility was both disheartening and frustrating. I will never return and I will recommend that no one ever do business with this so-called "Grand Adventures."
