"Great for Elvis fans"

I am personally not an Elvis fan, but I enjoy any activity that is out of my norm. My friend and I brought our kids, 4 of them between ages 5-9. The kids actually seemed to follow along with the tour. I think they just liked the fact that they had their own personal headphones to go along with the tour. It was a little pricey to bring kids along to see a "mansion" of someone they don't even know who he is. I think the people who truly enjoy this are the fans themselves.

"Neat Piece of History- Not So Much for Kids"

My husband and I really enjoyed Graceland.  We got married in Las Vegas so all things Vegas/Elvis are always funny for us.  We were driving through Memphis and decided that it would be cool to stop at Graceland while we were there.

There are definitely some neat things for the kids to look at while at Graceland.  The car museum is a great collection of Elvis' personal auto fleet.

You get to walk through Elvis' airplanes as well- most kids will enjoy that.

The mansion and some of the other memorabilia areas will probably bore even the best behaved kids.  They won't really understand the impact of Elvis on American culture and probably will care less about reading all of the facts and whatnot.

The tombs at the end of the tour, including the grave of Elvis, are very quiet, reflective places and you will see many people moved to tears while visiting.  Obviously this would NOT be an appropriate place for kids to be rowdy or disrespectful.

We lucked out on our visit- Lily Bean was just 6 months old.  We had her in a stroller for the first part of Graceland (like the auto museum) and then put her in the carrier for the actual mansion tour (NO STROLLERS ALLOWED IN MANSION!).  She was so little, and stayed pretty content with Daddy in the carrier.  We enjoyed the audio tour and were able to read pretty much whatever we wanted.

Unless you have a pretty calm, well behaved young one, I would skip Graceland until kids are maybe teenagers.  That being said- we did see MANY kids while we were at Graceland.

"Not for Kids"

I wouldn't take my kids here if you paid for them to go!  While it is kind of neat for adults to experience the house, although, be prepared it was a mansion in the 1970s, not by today's standards, it is not at all kid friendly, unless of course, you have angel children who have no trouble staying on the right side of the rope and touching nothing!

"We loved it!"

My husband and I went when our son was very little (I am not sure how he would do today at 6).  We loved being able to read all of the things on the wall outside of the mansion and even added our own names.  We got to see the private jets, meet awesome people and didn't have to spend a lot.

"Graceland"

Being a kid and visiting here myself, I know how absolutely boring it is.  Viewing a house just is no fun for any kid, let alone someone you've probably never heard of.  Unless you are an avid Elvis fan, this probably isn't a good place to take your entire family.
